Storage FAQ
Below are answers to frequently asked questions. If you would like further information please reach out to us by phone or email.
When can I move in?
If we have an available unit that fits your needs you can move in as soon as we receive a signed copy of the rental agreement, security deposit and first month's rent.
Do I need to sign a long term lease?
No, our leases are month to month. We do require a 15 day notice prior to the end or your rental term to vacate the unit.
How do I make a payment?
You can mail your payment to P.O. Box 1806 Sanford, ME 04073 or drop your payment off onsite.
What forms of payment do you acccept?
We accept cash, checks and money orders. Please make checks payable to SW Storage.
What happens if I am late with my payment?
Rent is due on the first of each month. We do not send out payment reminders. If payment isn't received within 7 days we reserve the right to put a lien on all items inside the unit. A new lock will be placed on the unit and we have the right of disposing, destroying or selling the contents without liability of any nature to the renter.
Does there need to be someone in the office for me to access my storage unit?
No, you have 24/7 access to your unit. Our office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. should you need any assistance.
Do I need to bring my own lock?
A lock must be placed on the unit once it is rented. We do not provide locks and are not responsible for any lost, stolen or damage items.
Are there any items that I am NOT able to store?
The unit must be used for storage purposes only! Explosives, firearms, flammable liquids, toxic materials, drugs and food including pet food among other items listed in the rental agreement are completely prohibited. Please contact us with any questions regarding a specific item.
